Miscibility

Miscibility is the property of liquids to mix in all proportions, forming a homogeneous solution.

Intermolecular attractions are attractions between molecules. The attraction of polar covalent molecules in liquids is one type of intermolecular attraction. The polarity of molecules in liquids affects miscibility, the ability of liquids to mix.
Two polar liquids are miscible.
Two nonpolar liquids are miscible.
A polar liquid and a nonpolar liquid are not miscible. For example, water (polar) and oil (nonpolar) are not miscible.
